Can Smart Lock fit on my door? The ROOK Smart Deadbolt Lock will fit on most standard doors. In fact, the ROOK Electronic Deadbolt mechanism can be expanded to fit 60-70mm thick doors. 9/10 residential doors fall into these parameters. Can it be unlocked with keys? Yes, the ROOK door locks with keypads can be opened with mechanical keys as well as your finger print, code, phone, or RF Fob. ROOK is a truly keyless door lock but can be used with regular mechanical keys. Can Smart Locks lock me out? Maybe others will, but with ROOK you can enjoy peace of mind and never worry about being locked out. Our keyless entry door lock features backup power port as well as low battery alerts and a set of mechanical keys to avoid you ever being locked out of your own home. Does the Smart Lock need WiFi? No, the ROOK electronic door lock does not need WiFi to work. In fact, you can share access to your automatic door lock from anywhere in the world without a connection to WiFi by sending eKeys to your friends, guests, or service providers. Is my personal data shared? No, the ROOK does not store your personal information. As an American brand we follow the strict regulations around privacy with our AWS-hosted mobile application. Does it work with Alexa? No, the ROOK doesn’t come with Gateway, so at this moment it does not work with Alexa, however we are currently developing a ROOK Gateway. NOTE: Smart Gateways are fairly new technology, which is why we went the Bluetooth route. With WiFi if the connection is poor you risk of being locked out, and we certainly don’t want that for our customers. We will release our gateway technology as soon as its uptime reaches 95-99%.
